Mt. Geumbyeongsan enfolded with silk is a rather low mountain situated in the northern part of Daejeon along with Mt. Obongsan and Bodeokbong Peak.
It is a familiar mountain similar to a hill that is frequently visited only by neighboring citizens.
Once you pass the Guryeonggogae Pass from Mt. Obongsan and reach Bodeokbong Peak again, the entire Songgang River and Daedeok Techno Valley can be seen. Although it’s tough going over Yongbawi Rock, Mt. Geumbyeongsan is now a very short distance away. Mt. Geumbyeongsan (364m) is low and as the ridges are connected gently, it is perfect for mountain hiking.
The view from Mt. Geumbyeongsan is extremely good, and on a clear day, Mt. Daedunsan can be seen on the far south. There is a legend about 3 caves in Mt. Geumbyeongsan where a dragon lives, and Suungyo Cheondan (Temple of Heaven) is located here.
In Section 7 course, it’s not easy to pass through the 5km barbed wire section at Agency for Defense Development (ADD). Descending towards the Jaundae Commercial District from Norubong Peak in the middle is another option.
Around Section 7, Jeokosanseong Fortress, Suungyo Cheondan (Temple of Heaven), Suungyo Seokjong (Stone Bell), Bongryeonggak and Yonghodang can be found.
