Meanwhile, the Daejeon Metropolitan City is making its way to lead the Fourth Industrial Revolution era. For this, the city‘s government is going to organize “Strategy Response Team for the Fourth Industrial Revolution“ and to operate a working group according to specific sections, utilizing specialists from government-affiliated research institutes at Daedeok Innopolis, universities and companies.
The Response Strategy Team, which will be the control tower of Fourth Industrial Revolution, will establish an organic cooperative system with civil, administrative, academic, and cultural leaders. It will also improve the power of execution responding to national government‘s policies.
Daejeon is also planning to carry out “Futuristic Idea Contest for the Fourth Industrial Revolution“ at Daedeok Innopolis as well as other private institutes in Korea.In addition, Daejeon will hold a “Competition for future industry ideas related to the 4th Industrial Revolution,“ and government funded institutes and private institutes at Daedeok Innopolis can participate in this. Through this competition, samples of robotics, bio-science, and the drone industry are expected to be chosen as top of innovators.
Meanwhile, the city government held a debate centered on the theme of “The Fourth Industrial Revolution and the Future of Daejeon” last December. Scientific and economic experts and entrepreneurs attended and tried to search countermeasures of the Fourth Industrial Revolution period.
