Daejeon Metropolitan City has a plan to make the Daejeon Global Game Center as a mecca for the game industry in the central region by utilizing the advanced technology of Daedeok Innopolis.
The Daejeon Global Game Center is equipped with the latest equipment such as VR devices and simulators that the ICT companies can use to develop and test new games.
Daejeon Metropolitan City plans to expand the support of local specialized game productions with the Daejeon Global Game Center, to diversify support for game contents development; to nurture star companies; and to promote global advancement of related companies.
Fostering Promising Game Industry
Daejeon Metropolitan City has gotten national government funding for its game industry, and has been fostering a promising game industry with a total of KRW 12 billion for three years.
Thanks to this effort, the number of game software companies has surged from fourteen to forty-four, thus creating ninety-two new job positions. They have benefited the local economy, which has achieved KRW 14.3 billion in sales.
In particular, the Korean language educational game “Scared monster to learn Korean,“ developed by one of the local game companies - Play Castle, is currently ranked No.1 on “Google Play“ and “App Store“.

Z-BIKE(fitness bike) developed by fitness software company-GOIT is going to advance to the Chinese market. 1,200 Z-BIKE’s have been sold so far.
